Easy way to get from Munich Airport to the city centre by bus

Lufthansa Airport bus image

Munich International Airport is 40 km from the city centre. There is a Lufthansa Airport Bus that takes you right into the city center and stops conveniently at Munich Hauptbahnhof (Central Train Station). You can take the Lufthansa airport bus regardless of which airline you arrive on. It will be waiting outside the airport and should have “Lufthansa Airport Bus” along the front and side. The bus leaves every 20 minutes from the airport Terminal 1 (Arrivals A exit) and 2 and it takes only about 40 minutes to get into the city. There are 2 stops and you would get off at the 2nd one which is the Hauptbahnhof. The price is 10.50 Euros each way for adults and 5.50 Euros for children. It works out cheaper if you buy a return ticket. Pay the driver when you get on.

Once you get to the train station, you can take the S-bahn or U-bahn to your hotel. There are also trams, buses and taxis outside.

If you need to go to the ZOB (Central Bus Station), you can walk from the Hauptbahnhof or it might be easier to take the S-Bahn one station to Hackerbrucke, right outside the bus station.
